The best solution when it comes to printing labels!
The direct thermal or thermal transfer printing process differs significantly from other printing methods. In direct thermal printing, a coating on the label is blackened by heat. Everyone still remembers the out of fashion fax machines with thermal paper, where it works the same way. The advantages and disadvantages should also be known: Handling is easy, no extra ink, paint, toner, etc. are needed. However, the blackening does not last very long. Depending on the quality of the label, after a few days or months everything will have faded or even disappeared.
In thermal transfer printing, a dye embedded in wax, resin or their mixtures is transferred to the label. This occurs through the application of heat and pressure. The advantage is the almost infinite choice of materials that can be printed on. Depending on the material, the printouts can even be scratch-resistant, resistant to chemicals and temperatures, and absolutely lightfast.
Thermal printers come in many varieties and, of course, from many manufacturers. Striking distinguishing features are the maximum print width, the resolution of the thermal print bar, the print speed, the availability of special options and the design of the device structure. We can tell you whether the inexpensive desktop printer in a plastic housing or the "high-end" industrial printer in a metal housing is the right choice for you.
We know the various products and have the required expertise to operate them effectively. We can advise you on the selection of the appropriate printer, label material and thermal transfer ribbons. The integration into your system, such as SAP, BAAN, Windows etc. is also no problem for us.
We provide you with everything from one source: printer, software, labels, ribbons, service and maintenance - our experience is there to help you!
Matrix printers work differently when it comes to bringing the print onto the paper. Ink is transferred from a ribbon to the paper by a needle or hammer. Many of these printed dots result in the desired letters, numbers, graphics, barcodes, or whatever is needed. Due to the relatively strong pressure on the paper, it is even possible to print on underlying layers of paper at the same time. Some printers can print up to nine layers at once.
Among the matrix printers, the line matrix printers play a special role. On the one hand, these printers are only capable of processing continuous form sets, but on the other hand they perform this task particularly quickly. The most powerful Printronix printers can print up to 2,000 lines per minute.
